Veterans' Day Introduction An Impromptu Ceremony HAIKU, Maui, Nov 11, 2009 -
It's been a while since I recorded
Anyway, rather than go on writing an introduction to this Veterans' Day concert, I recorded it. So just click on it and enjoy... Introduction (2:44 mins)
And now, here are some of the pictures I took on that cemetery hilltop at 11AM today, just before starting my impromptu ceremony there. As it turned out, even at a cemetery, I had company. A beautiful large monarch butterfly "posed" for me within this colorful bouquet. They (or it?) seem to follow me everywhere I go when I do ceremonies. Furthermore, when I was finished with the ceremony, I saw my first whale of the season frolicking maybe 300-400 yards off shore, too far to take a picture. So just imagine it... :-) Later on, as I continued my drive to Kahului, I stopped at Hookipa Point to take in a beautiful views of the surf and surfers on Maui's north shore. And now, on to the concert... Habanera (4:52 mins)
Here's that poster from the first American performance of George Bizet's opera "Carmen" in 1896. Finally, here are some Latin tango themes, so you can dance this Veteran's Day away... Latin Tango Themes (5:47 mins)
By the way, I see that this is my #22 concert. Which means 2 x #11 numerologically. So does that make this a six-ace day? Sadly, there are only four aces in a card deck... :-) And that's all she wrote on this Veterans' Day 2009.
