An "Unconcert:" A Comical Prelude to "Chorus Line" HAIKU, Maui, June 28, 2009 - It's been nearly four months since my last concert (14th Concert - "Concierto de Aranjuez", Mar 10, 2009). As you know, much has happened in the meantime in my life, including a move from Arizona to Hawaii. I was without my piano for about eight weeks, for example, while my lame movers dilly-dallied around in California, across the Pacific, in Honolulu and even in Kahului harbor. When they finally delivered it around the second week of May, and I played it for the first time, I could cry. My beautiful instrument was not only physically damaged, it sounded like a broken record. Luckily, I was able to find two fine antique piano restorers who worked on it for weeks. So by the time I got back from Peru, my piano was ready to meet me again. It's still not perfect, but it is 200% better than it sounded in May. Anyway, without further ado, here's my first concert from Hawaii. So you can judge the sound quality for yourself. But first, check out this video clip as a prelude. It will put a smile or two on your face... :-) An "UnConcert:" A Comical Prelude to "Chorus Line" (9:52 mins)
And now, here's the "real mccoy" - my version of the Chorus Line theme - "One," which I recorded a day after all those takes and aborted attempts on Sunday... "Chorus Line" Theme: "One" (3:09 mins)
