Another Operatic Weekend in Oahu: "Fledermaus"
Also, a magical water clearing ceremony at sunset on Waikiki Beach
FROM HAIKU, MAUI (HAWAII)

HAIKU, Maui, Oct 16 - It was the first time that Hawaii Opera Theater staged a performance in October. And it was a lighthearted "operetta" "Fledermaus" (Bat) written by Johann Strauss and first performed in Vienna in 1874. Which served as an excuse for us to dress up, too. I have not worn a tie in years and nor this beige summer suit. And Elizabeth has never worn this sexy leopard dress in public. Well, she might not have gotten away with it in 1874 in Vienna. But she looked terrific in 2012 in Honolulu, a real head-turner. :-)
Here is a photo album from that outing as well as a wonderful dinner at our favorite Honolulu restaurant - 'Hy's" - that followed. The day before, we also had an amazing water clearing ceremony on Waikiki Beach for my astral brother, Star Rising Kumara.

Here's also a video highlight of our dinner at Hy's - a preparation of Cherry Jubilee by one of our two excellent servers - Phil:

And that's all she wrote so far for the month of October from the Rainbow Shower and other Hawaiian islands.
